Cost to install will be around €1800. I didn't go for it so forgot the other details, only wanted it for an electric fence.

Our 2nd yard just has power for the well, which is about 100m away from the shed. I wouldn't mind getting power/lights etc into those sheds, anyone know the process of getting that supply upgraded from a low amp fixed charge to a more standard supply? Would the existing wires from the transformer usually be ok, or would I be charged a similar figure as quoted above to upgrade?

Hmm if youman is 50m away from a house, surely they can take a line off the existing transformer?

We brought power about 100m from the house to the sheds about 15-20 years ago. All we did was lay underground armoured cable. We have a separate fuse box in the sheds but the source is the house.
We didn't need the ESB or a second meter. For accounting purposes all electricity is for the farm with a percentage deducted for personal use. That is fine with us as we don't have milking machines and the like going every day.

the house and my bit of ground are on the roadside and ajoining il have a look and see of the transformer is on my side of their driveway..its prob a standard connection fee though maybe?

no problem of diggin out for ducting i can do that myself lay the cable etc and no problem to get a electrition to connect anything on my side.

handing over 1800 yoyo's is going to kill me but i guess im just going to have to grrr
