Is Netflix via Sony not in Ireland?

Hi, Just got a Sony BDP-S3100 blu ray player and the internet connects perfectly, wirelessly. All the bars are there and I can use the interent browser without a bother. However, I can not get access to any of the streaming services, most importantly, Netflix. Are these streaming options only for people in the UK? They also provide BBCiPlayer and iLoveFilm which I know are not here but seeing as Netflix is in Ireland, I find it odd I can't get that service through the machine.

When I click the option for these services, it attempts for a long time to access Internet Services but then lets me know it has failed to establish a connection. I've even tried using ethernet. However, my wireless internet connection in this room is perfect. Ive been using Xbox Live here for several years without a problem, as well as several laptops. After just 2 hrs is it time to just bring this Sony machine back?

Thanks for any replies in advance
