    Hi.

Can anyone buy a SIM-free mobile phone such as a Sony Xperia E in a shop as a present for someone else? Do they have to give their name and address or is that only when buying a SIM card?

    Cheers.

Id would only be required for a SIM card purchase but not for a handset AFAIK. You could give their name and address if any issues arise with the handset that would require giving the phone back for a replacement or refund.
