Only dual use items are of concern , should be no problem getting it shipped .

One thing about that concern me is. The infared LEDs are virtually invisable.

WhAt does that mean. Cause I do know some cameras have a red led that stays on all the time. Day or nite. And one thing you don't want is poachers finding it and them just heading of with a set of cameras.

I have one I got of a guy here on boards. Its completly invisable day and nite with no flashing LEDs at all. Acron I think it is

I have a CHEAP Tasco trail cam. It's Not great. Just have it for feeders and the like but the trigger range is awful. But I seen ones that have a 2 part set up. The camera is one part and the other part is a wireless receiver that you can hide up to 100m away. This means if the camera is taken or destroyed your memory card with the pics/videos stored on it is safe in the second part which is well hidden. Not sure the gardai/wildlife service will even look your videos as evidence so you should contact them before you go all Vigilante Justice on them. Either way good luck.

Thanks for the replies lads. The chairman was up with me for the past hour talking about the info we got today and he got on the Cabelas site and bought one with his own card which will save me the bother -

We are currently having a ridiculous problem in our club. It has been brought to our attention that a member has been taking his brother out shooting and giving him the lend of his father in laws gun. His brother isnt in the club, has no gun license and doesnt have permission from the farmer. A rule in the club is that a member CAN NOT shoot on club lands with a non member. They were out yesterday (Christmas Day) and one was seen with 6 birds and the other with 2. Its also a strict rule that there is NO shooting on Christmas Day. They are shooting the same area constantly which is in the surrounding rough cover field that one of our pheasant pens is located which is also a strict NO GO area. Sorry , just very annoyed over it. especially after all the back breaking work to get to this far. Rant over :o

If there are witnesses can you not just call EGM & issue a warning? If seen again he will be thrown out or something. Might find it hard to keep his license if was thrown out of a club for rule breaking & facilitating a guy without a license.
Seems unfair ye have to have to resort to investing more money over this crap.

Its just one mans word against another to be honest and if there was photographic evidence then at least that would be something that could not be argued with. I know the man that saw the two boys is genuine and is telling the truth but unfortunately its not evidence or proof. This camera in the right place will allow us to put an end to the crap. Nothing will be said to anyone about it or where its going. Only myself and the chairman will know

That's fair enough best of luck with it so.

FWIW,if you are going to use this for evidence why not get one that sends via sMS some real time pics of the culprits to your phone as well as to your laptop??Also make sure you get one with the blacklight IR flash, even us humans can occasionally see the faint IR glow of a flash.

This guy & his brother - in - law will also have a very good idea they are being watched from the above posts, info given & your location, if they read Boards.ie

This is very very annoying..........we had very similar over two years ago with a members bringing out a non-member friend of theirs.

I was there when three of us met them.....1st day of the PHEASANT SEASON......got very heated and insults flying as the two guys bringing him out were founding members of the club.

Brought up at meeting shortly after .....our three 'words' were accepted and they admitted to it. Warned to never let it happen again & got off with the warning......were really embarrassed.....never met them out again shooting.

2 points for you.Firstly the bushnell hd trophy is a great camera with no lights or flash at night.
    secondly
If you are using hidden cameras(for use in a legal matter ie throwing a guy out of club ect) without placing signs in the area saying cctv in operation then you can expect your case to be thrown out on legal grounds.our club got legal advice a few years back on this and that was the short of it.Think of the rural areas where the council has cameras to catch dumping, they have their signs up saying cctv in operation.
Maybe this has changed but that is what we were advised then.
