    Hi there

    Peugot 206 1.1 2004 Petrol

I am having problems with my clutch at least I think its my clutch. When I try to get it into gear sometimes I can't get it into gear other times it will go into gear. It's like it get stuck or something. The mechanic said he was 99% sure it was the clutch.

I was wondering if it is the clutch how long might it take to get the part for it ? it being Christmas and all. Also how much might it cost?

    Thanks Mary

Have you full travel in pedal, or just a couple of inches from floor??

Usually when the clutch goes, it slips, it could be the hydraulics not giving enough travel and therefore crunching

hi the clutch consists of 3 parts , pressure plate, disc and bearing, and all 3 should be replaced. cost of parts from a motor factors approx 100euro, to replace these items the gearbox has to come out and this can vary in price according to make of car. a guess for labour alone would be 250-300 euro, from the independent garage more expensive from main dealer

Do the simple things first: if it has a hydraulic clutch mechanism check that it has fluid and no leaks, then check that the oil level is correct in the gearbox. (if it's very dirty you could think about changing it).

After that answer ardle1's question, how high is the pedal off the floor when released, is it about the same height as the brake pedal?

sound's like a spring after fall out out of the pressure plate to me , does go into gear easy when the engine is turned off
