Oh my. Fancy posting some pictures?

I didn't get anything gear related this year. I finally got all my guitars back in the same house, yesterday, which was triumph enough for one day.

I might get a Pedaltrain Jr in the near future though so that I can get my pedals organised and stop trip over the wires laid out across my floor.

Just ordered the Gibson LPJ Studio Deluxe from Thomann. Never ordered from them before so a little nervous but a beautiful guitar in my opinion. Chocolate finish. http://www.thomann.de/ie/gibson_les_paul_studio_limited_wbc.htm

Don't be nervous when it comes to Thomann they're a great company and their support is top notch.

Went and treated myself to a Crafter FX550EQ a few days ago, it's absolutely gorgeous!

It has a dark red face, if I figure out how to upload pictures then I will!

Pack of strings and some picks… I don't need much. (That is below €500 anyway).

Probably the end of googlin', buying, spending etc. Don't even have to worry about poxy patch cables. Or valves. Or batteries for pedals.

I managed to source a set of Burns Mini Trisonic Pickups to put in my Eggle Los Angeles (LA) . I already have one in the neck of one of my Eggle New York Plus models and really like it, so decided to get a full set for the LA.

Normal tri-sonics are larger than single coil pickups and require extra routing, but the minis are shrunk to standard single coil size.

Of course I've to figure out the wiring on the LA first (5 way rotary selector), and how the mini tri-sonics would fit, and then a couple of changes that I want to make, I guess this is only the start of a long road :)

    D.

I got a Fredric Effects Golden Eagle, essentially a Klone in a small enclosure. I hooked it up tonight to a small amp and it adds a nice bit of body to the sound of the guitar, not a lot of gain on tap so far (Gain at 2'o'clock, Tone at 11, and Level at 9), I ran it into a number of different od pedals (Eternity Burst, Son of Clay Jones, and a Dan Zink Rinzai Drive) with interesting results.

    Got it today! :D

Sounds great from what I've heard so far. Far too late to turn up my amp though. :)

Finally got me an olympic white AM STD Strat.

I had been GASing for one for years but could never find a decent one in Dublin. Went over to the US before Xmas and the first guitar centre I walked into encouraged me to play all 4 that they had available (all identical - olympic white, maple fretboard) until I found "the one". Which I did :)

Pretty stark contrast to the likes of Waltons who I see have now started to secure their Squiers to their hangers with cable ties....... anyway, I guess that's a different thread!

    But yeah, Strat!

I've never had any problem trying guitars in Waltons - I just ask. Congratulations on the purchase anyway. It's a classic colour combination.

Yeah that's just to stop the guitars being mauled and battered by the amount of people going in.

Just got the email to say I'm top of the list for an Analogman King of Tone. A belated Christmas present perhaps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,635 CMod ✭✭✭✭Ravelleman

Well, I decided to go for the King of Tone. I got the high gain option on the right hand side too. Since it took so long to get to the top of the queue I thought I might as well. Let's see if the hype is true. If it is, I can see myself selling at least one pedal, which will offset the cost somewhat.
