Couldn't find a similar thread so decided to open one!

What is the story with registering a 2013 imported car? The car has been registered in NI in August.

    Will is be...
    (a) 132 as it usually would be
    (b) 131 because it was the beginning of the year, higher nos etc.
    (c) none of the above

Also I presume it will be the following number after the last car registered, not a 'large' plate.

    Cheers,
    D

Bear in mind you'll have to pay 23% VAT on it since it's less than 6 months old.

Perhaps Revenue will have another black sheep idea and mark them 133D, lol.

Thats interesting CINio, is that the same for all counties, are all large numbers over.
I could never fully inderstand it, but do recall reading that it was a temporary solution.

The large numbers only apply to imports originally registered before 2011. From 2011 imports just get the next available number in that county.
