Is it just our ISP or is anyone else got really slow BB today.

Could it just be half the country getting new on line devices ?

    Ripplecom in Co.Offaly.

Normally get about 4Mb/s on an 8Mb/s connection but today has been hopeless, barely 0.5 down

Everyone's at home, lots of new consoles etc going online and needing massive firmware updates before they'll let you proceed, kids getting games that use Steam/Origin and need a rake of updates, etc etc. Happens every year and is likely to only get worse going forward.

Luckily for me, my entire road is mostly 60+ and as a result the local UPC node is very under-loaded anyway!

Ripplecom has been down here (Lahinch, Co. Clare) since the storm on 26th. Amazing how much you rely on it for lots of things. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

Back up mobile bb is very poor by comparison.

All back to normal here. Good speeds (6-8Mbps). Must just have been volume of traffic with all the new devices !

Still down. I'm now extremely frustrated as a customer. Thinking of calling it quits with Ripplecom.

Vodafone appear to offer a decent offering, they'll contract Eircom to fit a brand new land line, and pick up the contract from day 1.

Good for you Henry...amazing how you miss it when it's gone. I have been talking to them in the last week and seems as if their network got a pasting from the storms but TBF we are still getting good speeds in the morning and a bit laggy in the evening but firm commitment to have resolved by this weekend.
