Anyone who uses FB a lot will know what i mean The ppl who post stuff 20 times a day looking for attention drives me nuts.
Im on the social networking site 4 or 5 years & its slowly but surely becoming 1 big huge competition
Today for example everyone posting up pics of what santa brought their kids Not saying theirs anything wrong with that I just find it a bit Childish.
I have my own 3 year old son & Our sitting room is literally full of toys but i dont feel the need to broadcast it all over Fb rant over :P . . .

This is just my Opinion before i get chastised :D

I hate when someone dies, and then on fb a person you know barely liked them or knew them puts up a "RIP God only takes the good" type status

Might as well have a good rod they're fishing so much

I think the worst is posting about people who have passed. Its not too bad when you are very close but like you would see people posting about there uncles grannies and absolutely everyone just for the sake of a few likes. These same people probably wouldnt put their hands in their pockets to light a candle for them it really makes me sick.

People are like sheep then they all feel the need to say "Sorry for your loss" or something along those lines
What bugs me the most is when its yours or someone your Friends with Birthday and some people just say "happy birthday" or even just "HB" like what the fcuk their is no substance thaught or personal meaning put into a post like that feck sake why bother Lol

Humans seeking positive attention is nothing new. It happens everywhere, everyday, on boards.ie and massively on Facebook.

It is irritating when it is not deserved, which in Facebook would be about 99% of it. The "luv u hun xxx" brigade. W*nkers.

This thread is useless without pics!!

On a serious note, do people do this to please the kids themselves?

I suppose it depends what you use it for and who your audience is. I was getting fed up with the dross on FB. So I deleted anyone I don't deeply care about, mostly old work colleagues and friends of friends, now just use it for keeping in touch with the family who are all in UK, and group messaging the girls. I'm much happier for it. Been nice to see all the crimbo pics from family and friends. I "like" stuff more now as it's only from my nearest and dearest.

Or instead of deleting you can just hide them from News feed

Noticed alright today that girlfriends are posting up what their OH got them in some cases it's nothing but a picture with a tag of their OH. It's the online equivalent of willy waving - with less chat roulette-!ness

Or sharing pictures weekly of them with their boyfriend/girlfriend outside the sweaty nightclub jacks looking 'cute' while doing a cringey duck face or something... There is something ridiculously wrong with the young people these days and their obsession with constant attention and validation...and this is coming from a 19 year old.

The one that really bugs me is when someone just posts a sad face :(

Then it's all like "what's up" "you ok hun?"

    Absolute retards!!!

Facebook lovey-dovey couples annoy me the most. Fair enough you love each other, but honestly nobody else gives a ****. And anybody giving a like for "Snuggled up under a blanket, Christmas movies and munchies with my two favourite people in the whole world!" is just hoping you'll return the favour next time they put up an attention seeking status

I know a girl who constantly changes her profile picture, if she doesn't get enough likes in 30 - 60 mins, she will change it again and continue this process until she gets enough likes to satisfy herself! Its tragic!

If only there were some way of blocking all the updates you don't want to see...

If only 95% of social media didn't feel the need to be so narcissistic in the first place

Thats what you get for being on the absolutely brain numbing time sink that is Facebook.

When you could be on the time sink that is Boards. You'll even learn how to get a hyper 7 year old asleep on Christmas Eve (its chloroform btw)

I deleted her from my friends

I think too many people care far too much about this stuff, if it wasn't Facebook that people were whinging about it would be something else.

The world is full of attention seekers and they're never, ever going away. Leave them to it if it makes them happy.
