Acer Iconia W3 and Facebook App.

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem. My sister got an Acer Iconia W3 for Christmas but when she tries to download the Facebook app a message appears saying that her system does not have the minimum system requirements to run the app. The tablet is running Windows 8 32-bit and has a Intel Atom processor, I thought this should easily be capable of running Facebook.

Would I have to try and update her system to Windows 8.1? Or is there another way around this?

If anyone has any information on this it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, and Happy Christmas folks!! :D

Yep if this computer came with Windows 8.0 then many new apps will require 8.1 before they can be installed. It is a free install, via the app store (and not windows update as you would expect) but it is a download of 2gb + and takes a little while to install. Its the only way to go I'm afraid. If its not possible to do the upgrade in the next few days then touch.facebook.com on internet explorer might tide you over. There are also still some free 3rd party Facebook apps on the app store that don't yet require windows 8.1 if you want to try them.
