    4.5.1 Financially Independent

Applicants aged 16 – 25 years, including students, who are deemed to be financially independent are:
    - People who are in receipt of income equivalent to or greater than the current Medical Card Income Guideline for a single person, living with family.

Financial independence may be achieved through student loans, education grants, employment, self-employment, part-time employment, savings, or social welfare payments. Rent Supplement payments are not included in establishing financial
    independence.

Am I correct in my understanding of this that in order for a person to be considered financially independent of their parents while living with them, they would need to earn more than the maximum income threshold for a person living at home with their parents?
