Applying to internships

Basically I would imagine applying for summer internships would be different from applying to ordinary retail jobs. So I feel the need to rejuvenate my cv and qualifications.

I am just looking for tips, like do i need to shorten my cv , be more to the point. I am a university student in my penultimate year of Economics, and its the time to apply to city banks . I am currently applying to Citibank ,hsbc, barclays etc etc in London.

Is there anything I can do to stand out of the herd?

For example one question reads "Please tell us about your work experience to date. What did you learn from this experience and how do you intend to apply this at Accenture"

I feel like saying something like ... I worked at centra and it was great <further detail> ...would be useless.

Any tips are very much welcome.

My CV was just like any other but with more details for projects. You could maybe use things you learnt from projects or assignments for that question on experience.

Thank you . What sort of internship did you apply for?

Mine was engineering so I probably had more relevant labs and practical projects but Im sure there are some type of projects in economics you could use. For internships its more about your potential then your experience so just try and make it look like you have a good understanding of the topic in your description.
