Tow bar transfer golf to Audi?

    I have a 03 vw hatch back golf has a tow bar that is useful for fitting a bike rack to. I am going to buy a 2009 Audi a4 estate that doesn't have a tow bar. I am wondering if the tow bar is compatible with both cars and how much would I expect to pay to get the tow bar transferred over?
    Alternatively where would be the best place to source & fit a tow bar for the a4 estate and how much would I expect to pay?

    The tow bar is only to fit a bike to and doesn't need to be wired for electricity.

    They are not transferable.
    You will get a towbar on Ebay (towequipe are one of the better suppliers there) for less than half the cost of one here.
    Any mechanic should be able to fit this easily, especially as you don't need it wired for lights.

    What would a rough price be for a tow bar for a car and to fit it be?

    Depends on the cars wiring system and whether the bumper has to come off.
    Towbar can average around €180, standard wiring kit would be around €15 and a multiplex wiring kit would be about €50, then you have labour on top of that, so anywhere from €270 upwards (too many variables here )
    Usually under €400 anyway.
