Sudden calf and thigh muscle soreness

I've been running for about 9 months now, I do roughly 15-20km per week. The last 3 weeks or so I've noticed I've been getting a lot of soreness on the calf and thigh muscles. I've actually had to jump out of bed a couple of times because of sudden and really painful cramps in my calf.

I've not changed my routine at all, I've actually been slacking off a bit the last few weeks so I'm definitely not pushing myself too hard. My trainers seem fine on inspection, though I have them about 6 months now.

Any suggestions or advice? The pain goes after a few days then comes back again so I don't want to risk anything more serious.

Have there been many Christmas nights out of late? It could be a dehydration issue.

Other than that my advice would be to get it looked at by a sports physio/therapist

A couple, but the problems started before that. I'm not great at drinking before and after my runs mainly because I never really feel all that thirsty or dehydrates.

My advice then would be get it checked out as unfortunately it is against charter rules to give medical advice.
