    Hi,

I heard there are new building regulations coming into play soon enough.

Does anyone know if these will affect existing builds?

For instance, will these regulations mean that fire escapes will be required on apartment blocks?

For houses divided into units will each unit need its own bathroom?

For purpose built 3 bed apartment in a development will each bedroom needs its own bathroom(this one sounds ludicrous)?

Will there be any other possible requirements on existing builds that will prove costly to an owner/potential purchaser now that should be allowed for in any price a property is bought/sold for?

    Cheers

Simple answer no as they relate to works where commencement is lodged after 1st march. They are also building control regs and not building standard regs.

a building must comply with the regs in place at the time it is built. There are regs for bed sits etc that are rented but other than that there is no change required but that does not mean you should not upgrade to the standard if possible
