    Hello Lads,

my colleague bought a Android 4.2 Replica iPhone 5S (GooPhone/Zophone) on his recent Far East trip. He said it was grand and used it may be a week or 2 with the local Sim. On his return flight to Ireland it died on him. He had his other Phone too with him so he didn't bother much. On his return I tried to charge the Phone but it's not charging.

I googled it and found other people had similar problems and the advice was to try other generic chargers/Sync cables. I got one from deals and when I connect it all I see is a empty battery symbol like the one below and also when I connect it to my Laptop it says "One of the USB devices attached to your computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it".

Does this mean the Phone is fec*ed up or is it just it's not charging and I should replace the battery.

Have you tried it with a known good charger to rule out a bad one? Not sure if it would work but does it boot with the battery removed on usb power?

I did and get the same empty battery symbol. I don't think I can remove the battery as it is soldered to the Motherboard.

Them iphone copies have awful batteries. I had one years ago and the battery died. It even came with two batteries and the second died as well.

Seems like a prime example of a false economy.
