If you are marginally over Nitrates how much slurry have you to export to get rid of 100 Units of N. At a rough calculation I think it is about 1200 gallons am I right:confused:

Next you have to notify department by 31 of December. If exporting to a farmer that is lowly stocked is a letter to the department with both herd numbers and signed by both farmers adequate.

Is the local office ok or have you to send to a specific part of the department.

The lad receiving actually receives less N than you export because of N wastage in air:confused:

no Pudsey, its organic N, You fill out this form. What was your September figure and has your stock level changed. Its a bit of a joke with the dept trying to catch you out as they wont give an up to date figure so you know exactly how much to export.

Its to be sent to nitrates in Johnstown castle and the importer receives the same amount of organic N that you export

Divide your sept figure by 9 and multiply by 12. Divide by the ha on your SFP .If your over 170 per ha export enough to bring you under this figure. The rest per Bob.

Thats all well and good if you keep the same number of animals at the same ages but for beef it can be a pain in the ass as you havnt a clue really. I done it in detail one year and left myself with a margin for error of 8kgs/N/ha and for a finish they calculated a figure of 169kgs/n/ha:) close

5kgs of N, if in slurry form, per cubic meter

You can get a nitrates stock report on Icbf if you're on it. You can download the form to excel and fill in the figures for the last couple of months of the year.

I am using off ICBF so I am able to calculate exact amount I will generate in the year. Jut need to be sure of the amount of N/Cubic metre of slurry.

I have authority that go through my paperwork with a fine tooth comb in relation to this matter so my paperwork has to be water tight, coupled with the fact im times over the limit

`There is a misconception out there that if your have no SFP you are not governed by the regulations this is not the case most of the regulations are enshrined in law and you can be prosecuted by the Co Councils who are the main envoirmental enforcers
