    Hi guys,

Quick one, as per another thread, my car failed the NCT as it needs two new tyres. I'm hoping to get this done today and drop into the test centre on the way home to get the visual done. Do I need the VLC and the NCT report to do this (as naturally, I forgot to take them with me this morning)?

You don't need the VLC (as they have seen that already).
You shouldn't need the NCT fail report as they have it on their database, but they will probably ask for it anyway.
Just explain your case and you should be fine.

I had an NCT [Naas] a couple of days ago. There was a sign on the wall that people SHOULD bring their failed report for the re-test / visual test. If you have it, bring it, just in case.

Yes they will have the details of the failed test but it saves time to have the sheet.
