    Hi
Perhaps someone could advise me :
I'm considering importing a 6 month old Ford Custom Van from the UK, buying privately. (£15,000 sterling) What VRT sould I expect to pay. Would the fact that it's under a year old have a bearing on the VRT ? (It's not possible to contact my local VRT office by phone)
    Thanks in advance.
    M.

If it's just a normal van (no back seats/Windows etc), with Type N1 Commercial classification, then it's €200 VRT.

Being under a year old doesn't make any difference.

£15,000 doesn't sound especially cheap for a Transit van, unless it's a decent model.

you will be caught for vat though as if its under 6 months/8000km then vat is chargeable so make sure its over 6 months old.

if your vat registered though you can get the vat off of it in the uk
