Asian handicaps

Trying to understand how this works.
For the -0.25 handicap this bet is then effectively 50% of it on home team at -0 and 50% at -0.5 goals? ie half your bet on each of the the two closest 1/4 point intervals.
So what is the bet if you bet on an asian handicap of -0.75? The two closest 1/4 point intervals are -0.5 and -0.1 which means 50% goes on -1 and 50% on -1 ???

Yes thats correct if you bet on -0.75
50% of your bet is on team -0.5 goals
50% of your bet is on team -1 goal

So if you back a team -0.75 and they win by 1 goal
You will win 50% of your bet and you will have a push (moneyback on the second part)

Some books express that bet as 0.5,-1
