    Question guys.

What way are you normally supposed to drink canned beers? I know ultimately you can drink it how you like but do you normally drink from the can or pour to a glass?

Always from the can. Same applies to baked beans. Far classier

Into the appropriate glass for the beverage. ;)

If it's the usual Heino/Carlsberg piss over Christmas I'll just have it from the can, if it's anything that's had a bit of care taken when brewing it, I've a good selection of pint glasses to choose from.

Was curious to know the ''for best taste'' serving from can's. Obviously drinking from the can lacks that bit of class shall we say...but just wondered in general should you drink from can or glass.

the brewer of heady topper (currently ba's top rated beer) encourages you to drink from the can. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/27039/16814

who cares about class, if the overall end product is taste and enjoyment, can or bottle it can go either way.

    Depends entirely on the beer.

I use a chalice glass for some beers and a pint for others and some I drink directly from the bottle. Never drink beer from a can though!

Drinking from the can can give a metal like taste to the beer. While the can is lined to protect the beer from the metal, the opening will have an exposed edge of metal which some people can taste while they drink from the can.

I always pour it, the enjoyment of the beer is in the look and smell as well as the taste.

I always pour when possible. That it how beer should be enjoyed. I hope a lot more breweries start canning. Lots of people do it in the States and it has a number of advantages - usually a lower price and generally a very consistent product, for example.

Hasn't one of the US brewers canned their beers so that the whole top comes off which makes it feel like you're drinking from a glass?

Must google it later. Might check out whether I prefer the Modus Hoperandi from the can or a glass this christmas!

Thats Sly Fox you are thinking of. You can get them in Redmonds. You still cant see the beer though, which is a big part the experience
