Was defrosting fridge earlier and rather stupidly used a sharp object to break some ice creating a tiny hole which then released some gas.is the fridge repairable or do I need to get a new one?if it's repairable anyone know a good handyman in Dublin.any help would be much appreciated

They are more or less toast once they have a hole in them, if it's a two part system you might get away with the fridge part still working, if not unplug it to stop the motor overheating and go shopping for a new one.
    Sorry

Just tell her you saw the neighbours getting a new fridge delivered this morning and it had one of those fancy ice making and filtered water dispensers, and she might send you out shopping :D
    Good luck
