Wanted Carbon 50 mm wheels

    Hey,

    Looking for a set of wheels for a lad with a small budget, must be clinchers and shimano free hub, he is on a tight budget so nothing to fancy,

    Would he not try out some chinese carbon? can't imagine there being many cheap carbon wheels knocking about.

    I'm not sure what to make out of the chinese wheels,I have see others getting good deals on here so said I'd chance sticking up a add for him,

    True, I've been viewing them from the fence for a while now the price is a draw but the thoughts of them disintegrating going down a hill at full tilt terrifies me. :eek:

    I've read good reviews on velobuilld though.

    I've herd good and bad thing about them, it's the bad ones that stick in my mind, there is plenty of lads on them with no prob and they would probably rate them as good as the big names, I'm not going to chance them myself,they would be perfect for this guy but I'll see if a used set of cosmics come up,

    €450 is his max, how old are they ? Can you get any pics ? He won't need Tyres or cassette or skewers,

    zippe.Will probably have a set of CSN SUPPERLEGGRA XL50 available just after Christmas.Bought from www.ribblecycles.co.uk .Bought in Jan 2011.Clinchers,Shimano Hub,Alloy braking surface.They are the red and white ones.Not great at putting up pics.They are in good nick with new bearings in the rear a couple of months ago.Will be over your country early new yr if he wants to have a gander.No tyres,no cassette,e300.

    Are tubs much of a pain over clinchers. Obviously a roadside puncture could be an issue so i assume they'd be more race day wheels.

    I have had quite a bit of experience Chinese rims and as long as you buy from the right supplier there are super wheels for the money I have 2 sets and thing there super

    There is a psi of detec carbon on done deal at the minute .. Don't know if there clinchers or tubs but there only 400 with tyres ...

    nothing apart from the fact that selcof have been making carbon seatposts for all the bike name italian brand bikes for over 20 years...
    so one might think their carbon knowledge should be ok!
