Ariva 120 no signal

    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some help. I have an Ariva 120 which has been working fine for last 18 months or so. I have a quad LNB on a sky dish which was replaced 2 months ago by sky as the original failed but it was a few years old.

I am taking a coaxial cable from the quad LNB to the Ariva 120 and then I have scart into a Triax-Tri-link-remote-extender-and-RF-modulator which sends the signal to a 2nd TV. I was away last week and as far as I know the weather was bad and I am now getting no signal. Just got up on the roof and checked the connections and they are fine. The Saorview channels are working fine. I am looking for some suggestions on what to look out for. I tried a reboot and a re scan but nothing. I only let the rescan run for a few minutes as the channels show fail as they appear on the screen so I am thinking there's no point in running it.

    Thanks in advance

Can you check the connection with another box that's known to work.

In all probability your dish has been blown out of alignment by the strong winds.

I should have added that I have another sat box working from the 4th connection on this LNB and it is working fine with all the channels perfect. So I am thinking it has not been knocked out of alignment. I am just looking at the menu now and in the antenna set up section it shows signal intensity 36% signal quality 10%

    What do you think

Plug the coax lead in that room into the working box and see what happens.

I have swapped the sat box and it's still the same. I would just like to know why the other two sat boxes have all the channels and this one does not. reason i ask is because the other two boxes are talking a there signal from the same LNB so why would they be working and not this box.

Check the coax lead. Maybe dodgy connection at LNB.

What happens if you try the Ariva with the other two boxes off, as in completely powered down?

Also, I wonder has the Antenna Settings for LNB been changed on the Ariva? LNB Frequency should be "Universal(9750 - 10600)".

just to let you know it was a bad connection at the LNB. The F connector was tight but the it was not seated in right. i put on a new connector and it is back working now. The only thing now on the sky box the sound is not 100% so when the weather changes I will maybe take a look at these connections as I am presuming it might be this

Thanks for reverting. Your reply may help someone else.

I don't think the LNB connections will impact on your sound. It's probably a good idea to check all the LNB connections in any case.

As a matter of interest if you go to one of the affected channels and go:

Menu> Installation > TP List ........ what is your signal intensity and quality?

    Hi

my 2 freesat supplied TV's are working 100%, it is my sky box that is giving the sound problem. The signal strength on the sky box when I go Menu, Settings, Signal is around 80%
