I think you know yourself better than you think because the answer is in your question.invest in your farm no brainer!if someone with a keen interest and a bit of capitol, in an industry he has a passion for, will out do any investment advise here, hands down! work on an idea without the capitol first and when you are sure on its success ,put some capitol in. Good luck

The farming forum might be worth a look for you. There's lots of sharp lads on there that know how to turn a few euro.

You could try linkedfinance, which uses the crowd funding model, i.e lots of people contribute a small amount to providing loans. You can bid from $50-2000 at up to 15% per loan, with most loans I've seen around 9.5-12% based on the amount being asked etc. If the loan is oversubscribed the top end offers get rejected and they can be put back in at a lower %. It's a bit of fun guessing what a good rate is and watching the snipers come in ten minutes before the close of bids to get the highest rate and start to cut each other off.

Plus you are helping the Irish economy and get a better return then the banks, as long as the company makes their repayments, obviously. Full disclosure, if it wasn't obvious, I have been making bids on the platform.
