Salary Scale question

After talking to a couple of my colleagues about this yesterday and some believe I am on the wrong scale.
I have been teaching since 2006, fully qualified in 2008.
Have an Arts degree and a PGDE.
Been teaching in the VEC that I am in at the moment for the past 2 and a half years.
From my own research it seems that I should have started at point 3 on the scale.
At the moment I am only on point 4. Does this seem right?
What do you have to do exactly to be eligible to move to the next point?

Ring your payroll section query what point you're on and when do they expect you to move up tithe next point? If there's beans error this should highlight it and thenyoucanmove to resolve it

It sounds about right to me. If you are teaching 2.5 years I assume you started Sept 11.

If you you would have been starting on the scale below:

Teachers who started teaching prior to Jan 11 were on a different scale and started on Point 3 of that scale. If you started in 2011, you started on Point 1.

Did you do any teaching (as a qualified teacher) between qualifying in 2008 and before you took up your current position in 2011?
