    2007 vectra 150bhp, 1.9 cdti,
When you start the car Then when you press the accelerator pedal nothing happened just dead no revs/power at all.

When you let her warm up for 5 or 10 minutes the revs do come back but still very little power and would conk out when trying to move off.
Seems to be in some sort of limp mode, no warning signs until tonight when a yellow car sign with spanner in it appeared
anyone know what the problem maybe

    cheers

Get a diagnostics run it on.
It's going to be entirely guesses here until that is done.

It would, but only if it was pretty badly blocked, my engine management light is on with a while and the cause is the egr, she's a bit down in power but nothing major, the warning lighth could be the engine management

Could be , might be ....

the only way you'll know what's going on with the car is to have it read by someone competent with diagnostics.

Opels are weird in ways I've seen opels loose power down to the throttle body and having to. "Limp" 30 plus miles home to get the learned values reset.

    OP get the car read.

ok we used a scanner and only code coming up is p0070, we erased it but car no better

You have to fix it. Erasing code is not fixing.

yes but not sure what it is i have to fix

P0070 is ambient air temp, wouldn't cause the issues you describe

Sounds to me like a fault in the drive-by-wire throttle, but I agree that the codes need to be read (properly).

ok in the process of cleaning out the egr valve, its was well sooted up too

started the car to blow out the crap while the egr valve was off but pressed the accelerator but no revs at all,
is the drive-by-wire throttle the throttle body, this car has got cruise control
thats the only code its showing up

There is a sender unit on the throttle pedal that sends information about the position of the pedal and its movements to the ECU, which in turn sends commands to the throttle body. These components make up the drive-by-wire system. I don't know which part is causing your problem (if it is the problem).

Don't forget- indicate by wire system, brake by wire system, everything by wire system!!!! What is this, 2003?
Look it's more than likely an egr issue but just get the faults checked with a proper diagnostic tool and by someone who knows what they are looking at.
