    Hi All

I'm soon coming to the end of my 12 months with Sky broadband. It was a great deal at €10pm but it's finishing and it doesn't look like Sky are offering fibre connections in the near future.

Anyway I had a look around other providers and had more or less decided to go with Vodafone. That is until I looked around the "Talk To.." pages here on Boards.

Boards provide figures giving average response time and response rates for the queries which people raise with the companies who have signed up with this service.

I was a bit shocked when I saw the figures for Vodafone so I thought I'd compare them with the other companies.

Of the 15 companies listed Vodafone are 15th and last in terms of response time. In fact with an average of 90 hours (Yes 90) they are almost 3 times worse that the 14th company (Meteor 34 hours). The best is Elara with an average response time of 1 hour.

Vodafone are also 15th and last with a response rate of 46%. Elara, SUSI and Komplett all have a response rate of 100%.

Well I've changes my mind about who I am going with for my broadband fibre service. Not Vodafone anyway. I'm sure these figures give a good reflection of the company's service in other areas.

Anyone have any comments about Vodafone's broadband or indeed any suggestions on a good supplier to go with?

    Thanks
    Max

Yeah i had a query for them last month which was urgent as my account was essentially being blocked from accessing their telephone support. My broadband was disconnecting every 30 minutes or so. Literally a week later i get asked to pm them my contact details. Seriously lads if that's going to be your approach then just don't bother. I've fixed the broadband issue by using my own modem, the replacement they promised me has never arrived. And my account is still blocked when i phone support! So yeah when the contract is up it'll be back to eircom on principal.

I think you are making a big mistake. Vodafone are far, far better than Eircom. And check out Sky again. There's a poster in the Satellite forum who posted that Sky were going to give discounts off the full price to those who signed up early last year. I'll post the link to that post when I find it.:)

EDIT: That post is actually in the Bargain Alerts forum. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056738469&page=88

Was with Sky on the DSL trial for the past 12 months.
Given the fact they still can't confirm if/when they will be providing fibre, I moved back to Vodafone.
Switch over was well processed, no hick ups and I'm now enjoying a solid 70Mbps fibre connection for 37€ pm
Will be onto Sky in Jan to cancel TV as I no longer need it - Roku and Netflix + Saorview are good enough for me ...
