Hi. My daughter has somehow locked her phone. She had a pattern lock screen and one of her siblings changed it on her. Then when she entered the pattern incorrectly however many times, she tried resetting it with her google account. Apparently either her username or password is incorrect. I checked it on a web browser and all the information is correct. Went through the process of password recovery and changed the password. Tried to unlock the phone with the new information and lo, either the username or password is incorrect again.

As I can't get into the phone to do a factory data reset, I don't know what to do. Is there any way to reset the phone without unlocking it so that I can get her back on track?

You can do a hard reset of the phone if you run out of other ideas. Just remember you will lose all your data on the phone, but it will reset the screen lock as well.

Turn off the phone. Press and hold POWER + HOME button for the reset menu.

Select Factory reset with Volume Down button and press Power to reset.

Cheers for that. All her photos and music must've been on the sd card as she lost none of them. Talk about a result. Sound.
