Hey folks, just changed my UPC to horizon which now leaves my pc upstairs without a connection ( it doesn't have a wifi adaptor). I was thinking of using one of those adapters that you plug in ad then connect the Ethernet cable to, any recommendations? I should add I use it for mainly browsing and the occasional utube vid, nothing heavy

I did the same thing and haven't had any problems with speed. I'd rather that than using wifi tbh. Got mine for €37 in argos.
For just browsing I don't need massive speed but I like getting the speed even if it makes little difference to me in real life.

It depends if you want speed or low latency. Nothing beats Ethernet but you'll get a faster USB WiFi dongle for less than a fast power line homeplug. For gaming you'll see more packet loss and lag over WiFi probably.

Homeplug performance will depend on the quality if your home's wiring while WiFi can suffer with insulation of thick walls.

    Home Plugs

I got those bad boys the other days. Been using them for a couple of days. I am getting full speed on the 120Mb connection and no drops so pretty happy! Ping times have been cut too so all in all would recommend them.

Didn't know a dongle would work tbh, all the walls are breeze block so I think I'd rather try the plug.
