Wii u sensor bar not working properly

Ok so I only tried the wii u sensor bar today and its not working properly.

Ie when I point the wiimote at the telly it gives a hand on the screen very briefly and kind of flickers.

I managed after about 10 very frustrating minutes to get to play an old wii game on the wii u gamepad and it works fine so that leads me to believe I've either set up the wii u sensor bar incorrectly or it's faulty.

Anyway it's plugged in before anyone asks..:-)

I've tried it above the telly and below the telly to no avail.

Any ideas most welcome guys cheers

...Is it possible it's not completely plugged in? :-)

I'm actually kind of serious. When I was setting up my new Wii U this week, I had what sounds like the same problem as you. After ten minutes of messing about in the settings and cursing and waving of a wiimote about like a lunatic, I double-checked the back of the Wii U and discovered that I was able to give the sensor's plug an extra little push -- a bit of resistance, then a satisfying little *chnk* -- and then everything was working as it should.

Ok thanks, ill eat my words. I thought it was plugged in but just like the headphone jack on the gamepad needed to be pushed in till you hear a click so too does the sensor bar it seems.
You feel like your gonna break it by pushin it further.

    Anyway sorted now. Cheers.

Now to play house of the dead 2 & 3 all day long baby!!

The wii really had some great titles.

I bought Ghost squadron also a few days ago it should arrive sometime after Xmas.

It's no ps2 big namco gun but the cheap plastic gun accessory does help it feel more arcadey.

    Good stuff!

I had some fun with that House of the Dead double-pack and this little fella when I first got a Wii.

Did your Wii U bundle come with a copy of Nintendoland? If it didn't -- and you enjoy House of the Dead/Ghost Squadron -- think about picking it up: there's a couple of nice little games on there that'd be up your street.

My gun doesn't look as fancy as that but it works so it'll do for now.

I got Nintendoland bundled with the console alright bit of a mistake by amazon that I'm glad to take. :-)

Haven't tried it yet other than the ninja game.

I have soooo many games to play at the mo it's hard to choose.

    First world problems, etc..

Turned out I hadn't plugged it in fully. Workin fine since then.

Great to have the wii back catalogue at my disposal now as well as new wii u titles. Still enjoying Lego city undercover more than I thought I would. Tis keeping me from other games.
