So my partner was in a crash 2 days ago. A truck was pulling out and didn't see the car stopped in front of him and drove into the side of the car. Now he admitted it was his fault straight awAy and so did the haulage company. The haulage company said they wanted to pay to have it repaired without having to go through insurance company which is no problem. My partner use to work in a dealership it's where the car was bought and she trusts them to do a good job so we went off and got a quote for the work today. Now I must say straight out we said this is where the car was gonna go to be fixed the person we were talking to didn't seem fond of this and was adamant that we use there person as she put it "there's a polish guy we use" . We were in contact today with her and gave her the quote she didn't like it and said that she has the choice of we're the car goes to be fixed and that we need to bring it to him.(no intention of this we have a six week old baby and don't have the time to be running around to suit them) now am I right in saying we have the choice of where the car goes. Or should we just get there insurance details make a claim and have no more contact with this women.sorry if it's really Lind winded

You have the choice where you fix your car. The other party is just trying to get it done as cheap as possible, which mightn't be to your satisfaction.

    You go where you want.
Company is only doing it thinking this will work out cheaper.
It's up to you, or go through insurance, it's what you pay them for to sort this **** out.

They've started to whinge already. This will probably carry on. You might be left out of pocket.

Ring your insurance company in the morning, at least they will be notified if things start to go pear shaped. If it gets worse get the insurance company to sort it out.

Tell them you will fix your car where you like and if they don't like fine that's what insurance is for.

My insurance company already in the loop about what's going on made sure of that straight away. After 2 days I'm sick of them already. I don't think I could be bothered whit the hassle to be honest.

OP, you get the car fixed by the garage of your choice, not theirs. If they are not happy with that then end the conversation right there by telling them that you will be dealing with their insurance company directly from now on.

OP as the others have said go to the place you know the job will be done right instead of a cheap bodge job. When talking to the woman next simply say that she can pay the garage you are going to or her insurance company can.

Go through the insurance; its not worth the hassle of dealing with someone like this directly. Its also unlikely that they will sort you with a car while yours is getting fixed; something the insurance probably will do.

Got everything sorted they decided to pay an assessor who came out looked at it and said it would be sorted the next day. Got a phone call off our garage two days later and dropping it in next week.
