So I am currently looking for work but no avail, I have been out of work for nearly 12 months now and I hate that I have a gap in my CV, anyway here is my CV.

I set up a site not long after I lost my job and it has done OK for itself, I have dealt with companies regards advertising rates and placements etc, built the site & edited etc as time went bye

so should I put down on my CV the name of the site and if so what should I put down as my title and duties...

My thinking is it might help me in the job hunting , if I am wrong please let me know

I think I'd put it in, and use whatever title would best suit the role I am looking for. While "Founder" sounds more impressive, "Sales Manager / Business Development" etc might grab the attention more, if you're applying for sales roles etc.

Does it take up much of your time? You may want to be able to assure an interviewer than it wouldn't interfere with a full time job at all.

Thanks that is a nice idea, it only takes up 2-3 hours per day and it can be done when work is finished

Hmm, I'd downplay that - that's up to 2 working days per week over the 9 to 5 job.

Ya maybe so ( but even at that the site is flexible and if it meant be getting a job I would close it ).

I suppose it can not hurt me adding it in at least it shows I am trying to make a better life for myself and want to be doing something

Definitely add it. I have something similar on my CV.

As Eoin says, you need to make it clear it will not impact your job at all. "Day to day operations run by a family member". That sort of thing.

Definitely add that to your CV - especially if it fills in a gap on the CV that you are concerned about.

I wouldn't worry about employers thinking that it will interfere with a new full time job, that's the way the world is going at the moment - "Work 2.0".

It demonstrates initiative and ambition and you will have developed a new skills set that can be brought to bear in a new role.
