Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ulster Blitz Championship - December 28th
    The Third Ulster Blitz Chess Championship.
    Ballynafeigh Community Development Centre, Ormeau road, Belfast
    9:30 Registration.
    The number of rounds and sections will be confirmed on the day depending upon turnout. But there are expected to be between 15 and 20 rounds of chess!
    Time Control: 3 and 2. This means that each player will have 3 minutes for all their moves PLUS a 2 second increment for every move made.
    Touch move: the touch move rule will apply to all games.
    Entry Fee: £10. £5 for players under the age of 18 and any players new to Ulster Chess events.
    Prize Fund: Substantial. At least equal to entry fees received.
    Civil Service "Lackadaisical" Rapidplay - January 26th
    Entrance Fees

    £10 on the day, or £8 for advance earlybird registration. No other discounts available
    Registration

    Begins at 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start. Advance earlybird registration by email to the controller for a 20% discount
    Rounds

    6 round Swiss starting at 1:30pm. 20+5 on the clock reckoning that 6th round should finish before 5:30pm
    Prize Fund

    After expenses, admission fees will be distributed as 25% to NICS Grand Prix, 25% to club fund, 50% prize fund on the day. Depending on the field, awards will include at least Winner, Runner-up and Grading prizes
    Lunch

    Lunch is served in the Whistles Bar & Restaurant from 12:00am on Sundays, checkout the sample menu
