Seat Alhambra 00 Microchip fell out of key and in a drain

So my better half dropped the keys today in the rain and the microchip fell out and down a drain as its not in there anymore.

Car turns over but dies after 1-2 seconds due to the immobilizer.

I'm hoping someone can help me with some information.

I can't get it fixed until after xmas from local seat garages and they want 250 euro for a new key :O

Could I disable the immobilizer ? Is there anyone else that could program a new key or just a new chip ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Couldn't of come at a worse time.

Thanks for the reply. I just emailed them there with my info but Im in Galway.

I rang a local lock smith service and they are quoting 250 to come out and repair my key and give me a new one aswell.

I was talking to a friend of a friend he's a mechanic and he said he can just disable the immobilizer for me.

I think I may just go for this option. Does anyone know if its a hard job to disable it ?

Makes a mockery of modern car security if it is easy to disable, let us know how he gets on.
250 sounds steep if you are only getting a basic key (no central locking/alarm). But without a spare they have you really unfortunately...

I will indeed reply with the outcome. I really don't see how he is going to do it but worth a shot if it saves me 250.
