No Just AIB. I couldn't pay with my BOI Debit in the post office for a package. Had to que again for the atm, then go back to the que in the post office. I was sweating it.

That figures. Fcuk with people days before Christmas :p

God damn how I so wish that lulzsec or someone shut down the banks on thanksgiving or black friday, just to teach people for making me work unwholesome hours because timmy needs an ipad mini for $10 off.

Sure of course it'll be fine to put through a software update today - if we don't do it now it'll have to wait till January.

Before pointing fingers and blame at AIB, there is another intermediary involved in transaction processing and routing. If they transactions from AIB ATMs are working, then it could be the group that routes the transactions to AIB that is having trouble.

naturally. That only reminds me of how I get bitched out because the company that processes customer cheques electronically fcuks up. It has nothing to do with us and it has nothing to do with the bank, Telechex is just fcuking stupid.

First question to ask with an outage like this is "What's changed?"

Fcuk AIB, got away from them a few months ago with their rip off charges.

No hassle to join PTSB, filled out a few forms and someone else took care of everything.

Husband just used his 10 minutes ago and it was fine. Apparently some transactions are going through twice though so I'll be keeping an eye on our account

I just moved one of our accounts from Aib to PTSB. It was nothing but hassle. The switching centre took ages between closing my account and getting my new details to the companies. All my dec direct debits came back unpaid and money was added to all my bills in unpaid direct debit fees. I'm trying to claim that back from PTSB at the moment. Those fees were far more then my Aib fees for the year would have been. They're looking into what went wrong at the moment.

They were woeful in how they handled it. My advice is to avoid their switching centre entirely and open a new bank account and call the companies yourself to change your dd details before closing your old account. I have had so much trouble and spent ages on the phone with all the companies we have dd with. I should have just done it myself in the first place. I would have saved time and money.

I've settled all my direct debits, cleared out my account and now deposit all my money in a large chest. . .

    . . .at Stringfellow's.

    Fcuk the banks. Rawr!!!

AIB Debits Cards Down doesn't sound as exciting as Black Hawk Down or White House Down, but I guess I'll reserve judgement until I see it.

Is there any way of finding out where there are AIB atm's in Dublin?

I haven't tried to take money out yet so it may not be an issue, but just incase it'd be nice to know where the nearest AIB one is.

I think its a bigger problem. Been making payments online for work (domestic & international) ...none have gone through. Also colleague was making payment to an AIB ac which didnt process either.

On plus side just heard on radio that the card issue has been resolved

No need, it's all better now:

    https://twitter.com/AskAIB
AIB can confirm that the technical issue experienced on our 3rd party provider systems in relation to AIB debit cards has been resolved

All AIB debit cardholders are now able to transact as usual using their AIB debit card and apologies to customers for any inconvenience

Customer accounts impacted by this issue will be restored shortly and customers will not be out of pocket as a result of this issue
