I like to think most of jus unlike many other forums don't mind admitting to making bad calls.

    Mine?

Thought Ted JR would be a superstar especially compared to Cody.

Thought Wade would be the biggest star of Nexus rather than Bryan. Actually thought Otunga would have got a run with a belt as well.

Never thought Christian would become a World Champion.

    Yours?

Thought Mr Kennedy could be the new Austin :-/

I didn't think Wade would be the biggest star from nXt season one, but I thought he'd be a lot higher than he is by this stage.

Similar to your Ted and Cody one Rjd2, I thought Morrison would be the big star from Miz & Morrison. Miz's Chick Magnet thing was kinda stupid, so I didn't have high hopes for him.

    Dolph
    JoMo
    Kofi
    Swagger
    Carlito
All spring to mind as people I had high hopes for.

Back in the day I thought Matt would be the bigger of the two Hardy boyz (no I dont mean literally bigger, that was just obvious). He had slightly better Mic skills and was physically more what I imagined the WWE would look for in a main eventer. I imagined if they turned into single stars Jeff would be fighting for the IC/European title and He would be elivated to be a main eventer like Edge did while Christian generally got left in the mid card.... I was wrong.

I thought Mordecai could be good and that Hassan was going to be huge...I was wrong.

Before he debuted I also thought Nathan Jones could be something special... Wrong wrong wrong

I thought Zack Ryder would never become a jobber again after his US Title win.

John Morrisson. His name will be a regular feature of this thread I reckon. Hope I'm not eventually referring to Dolph in due course but as yet I still think he will get there.

To be fair with Hassan, he had all the tools and was destined to become massive, it's just a case of very very very very bad luck with the London bombings. He really should have been brought back after a few weeks though, it was a brilliant character and so refreshing to see. Perhaps WWE pushed their luck too much with how he presented himself and should have stuck with what made him work so well in the first place; telling people he was sick of being discriminated against simply because of his faith.

IMO JoMo was just about to break through to the Main event scene just before he left. Seemed to be growing decent momentum with the parkour stuff and was over as a credible face.

Like the above states with Hassan a lot of this is to do, not with failing to reach potential but in fact poor timing and unfortunate booking.

A lot of could have beens----Nathan Jones and the likes (had it all bar that killer instinct or star power)

    and

A lot of should have beens----Mr.Kennedy(M.I.T.B failure and the fact the "McMahon's son" angle dropped like a lead balloon).

And then "JoMo Sapiens" happened. That was a terrible idea and name imo.

Cesaro. He's been given much more than I ever expected. I was sure he would end up on the same path Hero would go down. In my defence, I had the same opinion for both so was half right :pac:

Have to disagree with this. Hassan was never anything special in the ring and this type of gimmick has a limited shelf life. It worked out for the best that he left when he did. Better to burn out than to fade away.

While not a technical masterpiece by any means, he was solid enough to work an entertaining match up. While the shelf life of his character may have been questionable, it would have been a much better end for him to exit the WWE loosing his title to an underdog baby face, helping create a new name, instead of the way he did exit. But again, not so much down to booking, but very unfortunate timing.

My 'wrong' moment is kinda embarrassing because I literally said it to the guy's face :o

When I met Daniel Bryan in Smyths, I suggested to him to leave WWE and go to TNA, where they will make him a star.

To be fair to me though it was 11 days after Wrestlemania where he had lost the WHC title to Sheamus in 18 seconds, I was sure I was making a valid point at the time!

Perhaps, I would have liked to see how that story would have went though, rather than just stopping abruptly.

I thought Matt Morgan would make it big in the WWE.

Had the size and look and was a young guy they could mould.

Then they gave him that stuttering gimmick.

I thought Daniel Bryan would be the one to dethrone CM Punk last year and get a heel run as WWE Champion

I thought Layla would be pushed as the Gail Kim figure against Kharma last year too

I thought when Ziggler and Swagger split they'd have a full blown feud turning Swagger face. Boy was I off with that one

I thought Cody Rhodes would lapse into obscurity when Legacy split and be gone within a year. Thankfully that didn't happen

I thought when Miz and Ziggler went face they'd be insanely over and end up wowing us all. Instead WWE did nothing with them and they didn't even bother to change their characters

Thought Sean O'Haire would be big, mainly because of those cool vignettes and his brilliant entrance music.Turns out he couldn't replicate those vignettes with a live mic in his hand, unfortunately.

Used to think Ahmed Johnson would be huge too, might have been if it wasn't for injuries.I had high hopes for Crush too.

Also never thought Bryan would be allowed to get as far as he has in WWE.

Never thought the likes of Ziggler,Barrett and Morrison would be anything beyond midcarders though, far too bland.

Shelton Benjamin - I though that he would be a main eventer.
JoMo - I was slow to pick up on him but towards the end, I thought that he'd get to the main event scene
Steve Blackman - again thought that he could have been so much more.
Wade Barrett - I though that his Bad News gimmick was going to be great (I'd pictured Barrett coming out at the start of his matches, stopping on the ramp to cut a promo, hit the ring and proceed to cut through his opponent - kinda think that WWE messed that one up though)

Had to tell if it's myopia based on how much I enjoyed their characters or a genuine belief that they were wasted talent.

I thought Elijah Burke was going to be a big star.

Full sure that Matt Striker was gonna be the next JR.

Also, Matt Morgan, Shelton, Bryan Kendrick, Billy Kid man were the next big things. Was full sure also that Lesnar would have been in the WWE for years upon years.

Christian was significantly better than Edge in every way
Miz was capable of translating his heel persona quite easily into being a super over babyface
Jack Swagger was going to be an amazing worker
Ken Anderson was going to revive his career at TNA
