There's an Apollo beside Victoria station too.

    Those Londoners love their Greeks.

On ArrTeeHee it said it was the balcony that collapsed...
Seven people were seriously injured after part of a balcony in the Apollo theatre in central London collapsed during a performance....

One theatre-goer described the moment balcony collapsed.
Andrew Howard-Smith, 68, said: "I saw the edge of the balcony come down, that's what I saw. We were on the balcony below.
"In the production you had to hold on to the rail and lean over to see what was going on, and we were doing the same.
"Everybody must have got hold of the brass rail and just pushed it over, and then the edge came off."

I know I know, we're not supposed to laugh at other people's misfortune, but that made me laugh out loud :D

I forgot about that one and I used to live near it.

    Thats a shame.

I was hoping it would be the Hammersmith Apollo as Coldplay are gigging there tonight and I had a nice vision of them being wiped out by a falling roof. ;)

Hope everyone hurt tonight makes a full recovery soon.

Christ, that's my ultimate nightmare. Every time I sit in a balcony I think it's gonna collapse.

Not sure if that is a specific phobia or not, but if it is, then I has it.

If I'm in the Olympia and people are standing and jumping in 'Circle' - I get the fear.

When Rage Against The Machine played the O2, I swore we were all gonna be brown bread any second when every single fcuker in the balcony got on their feet and started bouncing up and down to Bombtrack. And as that was the first time the place had been tested which such force, along also with the fact that it was built during the "boom" when contractors had been well known to cut corners and use materials which weren't top notch, I was bricking it. Thought any second the two thousand or so of us were gonna be hurtling through the air along with broken bricks and twisted steel.

I'm like a paranoid Walter Mitty me.

The emergency services in London had their work cut out for them in the last 24 hours between the theatre and the bus crash this morning. Especially the staff in St Thomas's Hospital who handled both incidents.

Fair play to them all. I couldn't do their job.
