Slowere speedtest result with new TP router

    Hi,
    I recently purchased a N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router TD-W8980 to replace my Eircom Zyxel router. What I have noticed is that the new router is showing a slower ping and lower download speed. Can anyone explain why this would be the case? The new router is a far superior router than the old Eircom one so I was at least expecting to get the same test results? I used speedtest.net to check the speeds.
