I hit some water yesterday evening in an 03 seat cordoba 1.4 petrol, epc and engine management lights came on. since then car seems to be in limp mode but idling ok, no misfires etc. I had a look at the ecu and it doesn't appear to have been wet at all, any suggestions as to what it might be?
    thanks in advance lads/lassies

Mmmm. Possibly cat/lambda damage? Best thing to do is read the OBD codes.

Don't place too much faith in this, but, if it were me, I'd disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes in the hope it would clear.

Or if the fault is gone, most cars will reset after 3 or 4 starts.

Quick update, epc lights gone off, back to full power, em light on but that's something I can live with for the time being.

Thanks for all the replies lads

Gonna hijack this, but do ye're fan belts screech after going through water. I know why it screeches but a few said they don't have that problem.
