Tickets for Ascot - Royal Enclosure

    Hi All,

I'm just wondering if anyone can advise if it's possible to get tickets for the Royal Enclosure. It's for a birthday present for a keen racing follower so I'd like to go all out if possible. On the website it says "Entry to the Royal Enclosure is by sponsorship only from an existing badgeholder who has attended four previous years (these need not be consecutive)."

Can anyone advise if there is any way around this as I do not know any existing badgeholders? Worth trying the embassy?

I know it might be a long shot but I'd appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction or offer any advise. Feel free to PM me.

    Thanks,
    Volvic12

Tricky enough from what I remember. The Grandstand enclosure is fine though if you can't get them. It's just beside the Royal Enclosure. Posh enough there too.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll get the Granstand enclosure tickets in the next couple of weeks if I can figure out of a way of getting my hands to Royal Enclosure tickets!

Alternatively weekend in Paris for the Arc would be a helluva present. Unless timing is important. June birthday?

Ha, the Arc is actually option no.2. Birthday is in April but it's a big birthday so it needs to be something very good. Just think Ascot could be very nice - good chance of good weather, good racing etc.

The Arc is the best value race day there is. 7 Group 1's on the card and you'll most probably get in for nothing. Even if you do pay, it won't be any more than €8. Then you can enjoy Paris afterwards. Flights are similarly priced as they are to the UK.

Maybe it is, but if he wants to go to Royal Ascot he wants to go there. Flights to London are much easier and cheaper than to Paris from Shannon too by the way. We all don't live near the big smoke.
