Hi, looking for some advice on travelling South east Asia. Im in oz at the moment doing the east coast and im leaving in a month or two and would like to see some of Asia. Countries I had in mine include Vietnam,Singapore, Thailand maybe Indonesia and Cambodia. Ive just started looking into it but also found boardies give the best advice. Do I need injections for this trip and which would be the best route/stops during the trip and what type of budget/time frame would I need to enjoy the trip? Thanks guys

That's a very open question and you'll get answers that cover the whole range... For one, to start your prep definitely go see a doctor about getting jabs, you'll need those.
We did Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia in 1 month. It was a tight squeeze. We enjoyed it but retrospectively would've left out one of the countries. North Vietnam was our favourite. You can go as cheap as 1k for a month pp. You'll want to budget for trips though, treks, adventure activities and so on. So give yourself a bit extra for that.

A good place to look re injections is Tropical Medical Bureau

    http://www.tmb.ie/

There are Doctors practices that specialise in above and may work out cheaper than going to your own doctor and ordering jabs separately. These specialist practices should have the jabs in stock.

Sorry, only noticed now that you are in Oz, I am sure there are similar clinics there. But wherever you are be sure to get professional advice.

Re your trip, the only advice I can give is don't try and see too many countries in too short a time.
I'm just back from two weeks in Cambodia and loved every minute, but could have spent a lot longer.
Each country you mention is quite different and if you only spend a few days there you will not get a true picture of its culture.
Another nearby country you haven't mentioned is Malaysia. Particularly its Islands and Borneo which is worth a visit.

I done a similar trip on my way to Australia, I posted a bit in this thread that you may find helpful. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=86247542#post86247542

We budgeted about €1000-1200 per month but realistically we spent about 2k each per month. You don't need to spend that much but we done everything we fancied in every place we were (dive courses and trips, mountain climbs, whitewater rafting etc.) €1200 would be a realistic budget if you wanted to do a few activities in each place you visit.

you'll need to get your visa for vietnam in advance, all others (thailand, cambodia, malaysia and singapore anyway!) you can get at the border.

highlights of my time there (nearly 10 years ago) were elephant trekking in chiang mai, the cu chi tunnels, angkor wat, snorkling in koh tao.
