    Hi,
I've been looking at buying a 2010 A6 , doing my searches I see 2 different AirCon Clusters on them.
One with 4 round dials and a few buttons and the second with 2 round dials ,more buttons and the set temperature on little LCD screens.
Can anybody tell me what the difference between them is?
I have been looking online and can't find anything apart from both are dual climate control.

    Thanks

    Two round dials?

Seriously, I have the latter, and unless its quad compartment climate control, I've no idea. The two dial one does everything else I can think of. See if you can link to photos from a couple of ads, someone might be able to tell visually...

That's the car there you can see the AirCon cluster in some of the photos.

The one above is the odd one, I thought the other design was standard on all A6's.

Best I can tell, the outside two are dual climate controls, and the middle two are air direction (windscreen, seats etc) and manual air strength. But thats purely from finding a good photo and zooming in. What part of country are you buying in?

The second one is the fully automatic climate control with the digital temperature display and the first is a lower spec version that was originally the standard air con system on the A6. It is a bit like the way VW had "Climactic" aircon and made you pay extra for "climatronic" fully automatic air con. There was about an extra 400 or 500 euro for the fancier version originally but as the model was upgraded and revised I think the better version became the standard one.

Yea it's still aircon,Just I've never seen that setup before.
My 2006 A4 se basic spec has the digital aircon.
How it isn't standard on the more premium A6 I don't know.

I'm looking at the first car above with the odd aircon cluster tomorrow and will probably drive it away.

    @carsfan
Would you know if the digital one could be fitted after with out too much hassle?

Get the full dual-zone digital climate system. I have it in my 05 A6 and had similar in my last Passat and it's a much better job.

Try and get one with heated seats though if you can - mine doesn't have it (surprisingly, cause it has pretty much everything else) and I gather it's a rather expensive retrofit if you decide you want it later. :(

Also make sure it has factory Bluetooth (by that stage I think it does but worth checking) as again it's an expensive retrofit.

Aside from that, great choice :)

The lower spec air con system was standard on the basic Irish spec SE and S Line where as the UK spec SE and S Line had the full digital system.

I've that in a 2009 A6 and its crap. Worst thing about the car.

    Thanks for the replies.

So does anybody know if its possible to retrofit the electronic panel easily?
As in just plugging it in or would need marrying to car?

Or why not just buy one with it as standard:

This UK S-Line is higher spec and cheaper than the Irish one you posted earlier.

It was never a deal breaker for me, just never seen it before.
I have bought the first car and the air on with the 4 dials is grand works ok.
