Great idea for a thread - saw that they were doing something similar on flickr and was thinking myself it might be a good boards thread.

This has been my first year with photography. Only started shooting images in July. My inspiration was the birth of my first son - Lochlann, who was born in March here in Melbourne. In hindsight, it kills me that it took me until July to discover photography (all those missed photos).

So my 6 months has been mostly about discovery and learning. Mostly focused on my new family (personally and photography wise) but also getting into some landscape and street. I look back on the last 6 months and see all the great moments, limited technique but the craic in learning. Looking forward to 2014 and hopefully continuing on the (mahoosive) learning curve!

I like these look back through the year threads. Mine is a mix of music and non music. I've been on holiday less this year so hadn't the camera in any new or interesting places, so I made do with taking pics in some Irish spots I visited and of family/friends as usual.

Being completely honest, I haven't gotten around to editing most of the pics I took this year.... Particularly when one photo is currently a 4gb photoshop file (pano)
