Twitter account questions

    Hi,

I'm new to twitter, I've only ever used Facebook so i'm not quite used to the layout and how twitter works. I created an account and within the first 30 mins, 5 other twitter users followed me (users I don't know).

Do most twitter users allow strangers to follow them or is it best to only allow people you know to follow you?

Also, I'm unsure on how to set it so that I have to accept or deny someone to follow me?
The online instructions were a bit confusing.

    Many Thanks!

One good thing is that you can block any unwanted people and if they give you any hassle you can click on their page and mark them as spam.
Boards.ie have a twitter account as well.

By default anyone can follow you, this is how it's mostly done.
Have a read here about public tweets https://support.twitter.com/articles/20169376

Yeah, anyone can follow you and if u want to be able to interact with them, u should follow them back. at any point u can unfilled and block or report them if u dont like what they're tweeting about. One suggestion I would make is though.. to create your own 'lists'. For example.. I follow a lot of indie artists and I created a list called artists and added all these people to it. This way I can just go to any one of my lists and see similar type of tweets from like minded people.. instead of sifting through so many different types of tweets.

depends on how many people u follow really. I only put people who follow me and that I follow in these lists also. Twitter is all about interaction.. Its great also for finding out information and current news etc. I have gotten two companies contact me about work also through Twitter. Companies do recruit through it as well..

    Hope this helps.
    Ter
