Guys I'm looking for a paint/epoxy stripper along the lines of the Jassco product from the states.

Does anyone know if that's available here or an alternative?

    Cheers.

It might depend on what your working on, some strippers will work but it can take a lot of coats to soften fiberglass, If it's fiberglass on a wooden boat I found a heat gun and scraper worked best for me.

If it's paint on gelcoat your best bet is an orbital sander, there is a tool you can get http://www.paintshaver.com/ecom/category/5/ but they are not cheep and are very tricky to use, another option might be to get it vapour or soda blasted.

Nitromors is probably the way to go but because of the new VOC laws they've had to reduce the amount of stuff in it that makes it work (can't say it plainer than that!), for the d.i.y. market. Theres one place I know of that still sells the good stuff but you have to sign a form saying you know how to use it and dispose of it safely. I'm a professional painter and they will sell it to me but not sure if they'll sell it to you if you're not in the trade.

Worth giving them a call though, heres the website

Cheers for the advice. It's to strip the black finish off a knife. Yea, I heard the Nitromors had been dumbed down.

I'll give it a go anyway.

Fair enough. The green tin is probably the best of the lot.
