Ive recently bought a 10 ton hitachi and I was wondering would a 110 hp 4 cylinder tractor pull this weight plus the weight of the trailer or would I need to borrow a bigger tractor to pull this weight ??

you will be fine just take it handy. obviously you will be down the gears a bit going up a hill.

used to regularly pull 10 tonnes of barley with a 5 cyclinder fiat 90-90 years ago.

It'll be well fit for it, as previous post ergs said just take her handy especially if it's an unbraked trailer. Pull a 60 with a 65 no bother :)

Thanks I taught it would be a bit much as you are pulling about 12 or 13 ton including trailer

Its more down to weight and size of the tractor, than horsepower really, what tractor is it?

I would think 10 ton machine would be fine with a 110 hp tractor, but you would want to have brakes on the trailer, to be properly safe and legal.

The trailer is a proper double axle low loader and the tractor is a lamborghini R3 110 i taught it would struggle as the terrain is hilly here !!

You will be fine, you just wont be going anywhere that fast.
A neighbour used to move a 13 tonner on a double axel low loader with a mf 188 when nothing else was available

That's mad I drew silage with a 188 years ago . It could pull 13 ton maybe but it would not stop it

You would stop it with trailer brakes. I drew silage for a week with a crystal with little or no tractor brakes, all i had was good trailer brakes until we got a chance to fix the brakes.
Plus when the boys were moving the track machine with the 188 they were barely moving, i dont think they hit top gear, When you were drawing silage you would be going flat out
they werent going far either , only a few miles with no major hills .

Anyone know of a MF 1135 for sale? Looking out for one for ages, they seem rare enough.

My mate used to move a Hitachi UH053 which is about 12 ton with a Fiat 880 (5 cyl. ~90hp on a good day). The gear ratios on them weren't great. If it was struggling in 1st high, you'd have to take both hands off the wheel, one to find 4th and the other to hopefully find medium, where low, medium and high were in a linear layout with neutral between low and medium. Fun times!
