hi guys i would appreciate if you could help me on the following topic.
I live in kilcock and I have a sky dish so pointed to Astra (i think is 80 cm) connected to myskyhd (so 2 cables coming down from the lnb which has 4 outputs).
I want also to have the italian tivusat(hotbird). I will get a decoder with the tivusat smartcard from Italy. I would like to set up the dish myself for not spending 100/150 € for a technician. here are the questions and my doubts :
    1. if I connect a cable to one of the free outputs of the lnb actually mounted should I get hotbird as well directly from the dish I have ? or hotbird is totally out of range.
    2. If not what would you suggest to do ? dual feeder lnb with 4 outputs so i ll keep the 2 going to the sky myskyhd and I ll get the 3rd one going into the tivusat decoder ? In this case is easy to set-up ? I mean i just get the old lnb off and put the new dual feeder lnb on and it will work ? or it s a mess to align and move the new lnb ?
    3. Or is better and maybe cheaper to get just another 80 cm sat dish with 1 lnb and get the cable directly to the tivusat decoder ? IN this case if I put the second dish close to the other one (lets say just higher) it would be easy by hand to point to hotbird looking at how the astra one is pointed and getting it as a reference ?

sorry for the long thread and I would really appreciate if somebody could help

    thanks

Your dish is 65cm by the way, fir hotbird and astra 2 I would recommend minimum 80cm dish, ideally 90cm
    1. if I connect a cable to one of the free outputs of the lnb actually mounted should I get hotbird as well directly from the dish I have ? or hotbird is totally out of range.

Answer is NO!, it is not out of the range but dhis dish might be bit small to add extra LNB for HB - it might not work on HD channels and during bad weather (I am assuming that you don't know how to setup extra LNB on dish and have no signal meter also)
    2. If not what would you suggest to do ? dual feeder lnb with 4 outputs so i ll keep the 2 going to the sky myskyhd and I ll get the 3rd one going into the tivusat decoder ? No you need extra LNB it wont work off one LNB even if you have 100 free outputs,
Or is better and maybe cheaper to get just another 80 cm sat dish with 1 lnb and get the cable directly to the tivusat decoder ? IN this case if I put the second dish close to the other one (lets say just higher) it would be easy by hand to point to hotbird looking at how the astra one is pointed and getting it as a reference ?

you can do it this way or use one dish with 2LNB's on it, if you don't mind 2 dishes this would be easier to setup by yourself. Hotbird is more to the right (looking from the back of the dish and elevation is higher also)

Don't ever put your email address in a public forum such as this. There are a million scammers & hoodlums around that would be only too glad to misuse it. Please edit your post.
