    Hi,

I have been told that I cannot use Bank of Ireland online banking with Mac. Does anyone know what software I would need to allow me to do this - I have VM Fusion on it at present,

    Thanks

That was true once, I don't believe it's true anymore :)

Business Online I presume, piece of crap that it is unfortunately only runs on PC on IE and old version of IE at that.

    Yup - sad but true.

Business Online won't work on Mac but Banking 365 will - go figure!!

Business Online is an appalling piece of Sh!t software .... If you are a sole trader I would suggest that you request BOI to move you to banking 365 - a more limited but cleaner solution, especially for anyone who using any browser other than IE or any OS other than windows...
my other half (sole trader) successfully did this last year

I use Business Online and it is a real pain (and expensive). Also a sole trader..

I use it for making payments/transfers, checking lodgements etc. Can banking 365 do that also?

TO the OP, I'm on a Mac and use Virtualbox and Windows 7 to run Business Online and it runs fine (well as good as is possible for an incredibly out of date piece of s**t).

I done just that right now with my business account on Banking 365 :) I am not a sole trader any more but I still have a bit of work income going in and out of my business account.

Do BoI still charge your other half the (ridiculously high) Business Online charges, even though she's using Banking 365? My wife is using a Mac but even though we could use IE on a Windows Bootcamp setup, we haven't bothered, due to the charges, as she only wants to check balances, and other simple things.

Yeah you can do all of that on 365 Online on any browser or OS. I had a relative who worked at BoI, they recently left in disgust at the awful way the bank is run, and the business banking service is a well known problem that the management refuse to pay to upgrade.
