    Hi All

Was thinking of getting an Ipad Air but sales assistant said I cant use it to watch videos I download from Torrents. Is this correct? Does all movies u watch have to be purchased through Itunes? I also have a laptop with alot movies downloaded on it - can I transfer these to Ipad?

    Thanks

You can use an app like VLC to play them but it's not quite as easy as having everything already formatted for iTunes.

If it's an mp4 file it will play straight away, if not you can convert it to mp4 with Handbrake.

OP : just get AV Player HD, it will play almost any file, and you can use the wifi transfer feature to copy videos from other sources.

+1 on AV Player HD. It's a great app for this purpose. Make sure that you have enough capacity on the iPad that you get. I recently upgraded from a 16gb iPad 2 to a 32Gb Retina so that I would have room to store movies and music

Should be able to play them with apps all right, dependence on itunes is annoying. Love being able to torrent directly onto android tablets.
